Walking in Europe

A blog of Angus and Alison's walking tour of the Tour de Mont Blanc, Via degli Dei the Dobratsch Circuit in Carinthia, Austria, the Dolomites, Venice, and Iceland

I’ve been trying to get some kms of preparation in, but with limited success. The Blewett Road/49 Creek/Hwy 3A loop from Nelson has been a great “go to” for getting ready for the Vosges Range. The Georama Rd hill up to Granite Rd gets me every time! Four more sleeps!

Looks like a steady incline on your training ride! Great preparation!

I’ve just read your site and followed some related articles. Very interesting! It appears we have relatives who were comrades-in-arms in the East Yorkshire Regiment. My uncle, Cornelius Lill, served with the EYR and is remembered at the Arras Memorial.
I’ll follow your travels with great interest. I hope you trip is relaxing, regenerative and restoring — in every aspect.

Thanks Neil! I will look out for Cornelius when I pass through Arras.
