Walking in Europe

A blog of Angus and Alison's walking tour of the Tour de Mont Blanc, Via degli Dei the Dobratsch Circuit in Carinthia, Austria, the Dolomites, Venice, and Iceland

Quick post: Leaving Trieste today after a short two night stop over. We had a lovely visit and dinner invitation with Christabel (Mike B’s cousin) and Roberto and a day of sightseeing through the old part of the city and the Castello di San Giusto built for Austrian governors and royalty in stages from 1468 to 1636. That part of the city also has the remains of a Roman amphitheater and the castle exhibits archaeological finds from Roman and Byzantine antiquity. Not enough time to fully absorb, but a city with a very interesting history and historical importance right up to the post war era.

We found the right platform!
