Walking in Europe

A blog of Angus and Alison's walking tour of the Tour de Mont Blanc, Via degli Dei the Dobratsch Circuit in Carinthia, Austria, the Dolomites, Venice, and Iceland

Quick post from the beautiful village of Courmayeur before setting off NE along the Mont de la Saxe to Rifugio Bonatti. Yesterday we set off from Elisabetta in a sprinkle rain down along the valley then a steady climb along the side of the Val Veny, weather brightening as we go. We cheated at the end of the day and splurged on a gondola ride down the last 1500 foot descent to rest the knees. Last night in a lovely commercial campsite with covered cooking area and amazing hot showers. It’s the little things in life that deserve as much gratitude! This morning was the first blue sky sunrise in awhile. We’ll take it!

Ancient farmhouse. Locals say 35 years ago the glacier touched that line of trees in the mid ground πŸ˜₯
